The year is 2200 AD. This year’s summer Olympic games will be held on Pandora, the fifth moon of the gas giant Polyphemus, which orbits Alpha Centauri A. Top athletes from all countries of Earth will be competing in their native sports. The Na’vi, the native inhabitants of Pandora, will also be participating in human sports, as well as a couple local sports that humans will be unable to participate in. Likewise, there are a few human sports that the Na’vi will be unable to compete in. Due to vast differences in physiology, cross-species competition will be allowed in some sports, but not all.
Both human and Na’vi athletes, as well as spectators, will need to be able to easily interpret the graphics of the 2200 Olympic games, including wayfinding symbols, sporting event iconography, and event admittance tickets.
The athletes present at the games will include a diverse variety of humanoids from all over Earth and Pandora. It is expected that all genders will be represented in equal proportions. Most athletes will range in age between mid-teens and late twenties. Spectators will range much more widely in age. In fact, many spectators will be fairly young, some will be relatively old, while the majority will fall somewhere in between. It is expected that there will be more Na’vi spectators than human spectators, considering the venue.
